Last Day Reflections

      My final reflection enjoy!

What did you learn about photography this year?
This year i learned about shutter speed and light. I didn't know film cameras were so complicated but so amazing. It was so cool learning about the different techniques you can do on photoshop that are simply amazing yet beautiful. It was a great thing to learn about the things you can see in nature and all the hidden messages it has buried underneath the soil. I learned to make stories with my photos and how to maybe differ the outcome just by simply changing the view of light, if there are blurred parts, or just doing another angle.

What did you learn about yourself this semester?
I learned that i really love doing portraits and landscape photos. I enjoy catching some really amazing and happy photos that turn out beautiful or just some more of a grudge photo that maybe has some deep meaning behind it. I also found out how i think about everything a lot, and how i love finding light in dark places or a spark in someones eye.

What do you wish we had done that we did not?
I wish we could have done more film and more things to do together maybe with a partner on the weekend.I also would have loved doing just some landscape and capturing more things from a nature perspective. I wish maybe it could have been not so much as an 'on your own this is your project' but more like 'here's your assignment this one we should use a partner and paint a picture with the camera' class. But i still did like it. And maybe even had a fun silly one where we dressed up to maybe try and do like a scenic picture of sorts.

What was your struggle?
I struggled with doing the film in the beginning of the year because i was gone a day when we learned some key things to use it. I also had trouble finding time when your busy doing the things i love doing, like taking pictures was so far down on the list with all these things i don't favor doing when it should have been at the top. I also struggled with following what the criteria was and turning it in because i loved taking pictures but i wanted to do them on my own and do them in any style i wanted and to edit them in a way that please me, so i need to learn to separate that time with the things i need to do to improve.

What did you conquer?
I conquered having a passion for it. At first i just did 'look and snap' but then i really got into the way it made a person or me feel. I wanted to show more to give off something. To teach without words and show you don't need words to write a novel. So the greatest thing i have conquered this year was starting to find the essence of words through a picture with none at all, and I'm gonna stick to it.
